The Savage Huns were a prominent street gang in New York City around the time of the meeting.

The Savage Huns were a Chinese gang, dealing out of Chinatown, Manhattan. The Huns were skilled in Martial Arts, and dealt in extortion and loan-sharking. The leader of the Savage Huns was Ghost, a disciplined martial artist who never spoke.

The Savage Huns had a brief rivalry with the Coney Island-based gang The Warriors, which culminated with Ghost being wasted by Fox, who was being initiated into The Warriors, and Vermin, a co-founder of the gang. Later, an alliance existed between the Huns and the Satans Mothers, as Ghost and the Mothers' leader Spider attempted to work together. However, the alliance broke down and the gangs became rivals.

The Savage Huns' prominence meant that they were one of the gangs invited by Cyrus and the Gramercy Riffs to the meeting in Van Cortlandt Park. There, the Huns' nine delegates witnessed Cyrus being shot and killed.
